Congratulations to all!

We appreciate all your hard work in order to beautify our community.

Your front yard is a source of pride to your neighborhood.

Keep up the good work!

Once again we will be sponsoring our Annual Trillium Award contest.

Be on the look-out for a potential winner.

This contest is open to all residents of the Town of Petawawa.

Do you have a neighbour who, through extra effort, have made the front yard of their home bring a smile to your face and which is a source of pride to your neighborhood?

Encourage and thank them for their hard work by nominating them for the coveted trillium emblem they can show with pride in their yard.

Be sure to nominate them by emailing us with their address and phone number (if known) as well as your name and phone number.

Nominations close July 30th, 2016.

Select gardens that enhance the neighborhood.

Judge the front garden only and not the surrounding area or buildings.

The size of the garden is not relative.

The gardens are rated on a scale from 1 to 10 using prescribed criteria.

Neither the nominators nor the nominees need to be members of our Society.

Nominators must not be family members residing at the same address.

The work has to be carried out by themselves.  (Commercially designed or installed landscaping is ineligible).

Does there appear to be an overall plan to the garden?

Do structures and ornaments add to the total effect?

Is there continuous colour throughout the whole season?

Is the area relatively weed-free? (wild flowers are not considered a weed)

Does the garden stand out in a spectacular manner within its own neighborhood?
